Products Traded On the LIFFE
LIFFE offers a wide array of derivatives products such as: stocks, currencies, commodities, government bonds, indices, swaps, and short term interest rates. All of them are eligible to trade on the electronic platform.
Stocks: LIFFE has over 680 single stock futures trade on its system. This number was around 200, but after Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon, London, and Paris consolidated the number more than tripled. 200 x 3 = 600.
Commodities: There are many different types of commodity futures and options traded on the exchange. The most are centered on sugar, coffee, and cocoa. Agricultural and soft contracts make up most of its volume.

Interest Rates: Recently, trading hours have been extended so that other time zones can trade. Short term interest rates are comprised of options and bond futures contracts that cover benchmarks of key countries such as: the UK, U.S., Japan, and Europe. The average daily volume is 2.5 million contracts for this sector.

Bonds: The most active products in bond derivatives are gilt futures and options. Coming in at the third most actively-traded contract is the JGB, which is the Japanese Government Bond.
Swapnotes are used as a hedging product and trade in line with the euro swap curve. Also, it is used to hedge longer non-government yields. The most actively traded euro swap is the 2yr, 5yr, and 10yr Swapnote.
